On the Wrong Path – Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe
It would make you blush. It is “pure pornography” according to a parent in Washington State, yet it is written for 14-18 year olds and is available at your local library.
It is Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe.
The book, a graphic novel located in the biography section, appeals to teenagers. The explicit drawings are pornographic filth, including erotic pictures of sex and masturbation.
Thankfully, the book has been a topic of controversy across the United States and has been removed from some public school libraries. But it remains on the shelves within the public libraries of Oklahoma County.
If my 14 year old son were browsing the shelves of Belle Isle Library to find a biography for a school project, he could easily find Gender Queer, check it out, and take it home. The fact that this obscene book is marketed to minors is despicable.
Our libraries, where children have browsed books safely for decades, have caved to a disturbing trend in our woke culture, sexualizing our youth.
Call Larry White, the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Library System. Call legislators, spread the word. It is time to stand up for our children. We do not want our local libraries to market sexually explicit material like Gender Queer: A Memoir to our youth. It’s called pedophilia, and it’s wrong.

You’re infantile, ignorant and hateful. Your 14 year old son is already watching hardcore pornography on the internet, and unless he is queer he would have zero interest in this book or ever even consider checking it out. He’s not just randomly checking out books, he’s reading material that interests him for one reason or another. Despite your inability to see it, he has a mind of his own and thinks for himself, he doesn’t just randomly check out books and hope that he might have an interest in it. Parent YOUR children, and leave other children’s parenting to THEIR parents. It’s none of your fucking business, Karen.
Dear Johnny Fever, do what you want so long as you are an adult – which at minimum is over the age of 18. If you are anywhere near someone under 18 with this book – or anything like it – you’re a groomer and a pedophile. No SANE adult would want children to see this crap. Period.
It is her buisness, groomer. It is *never* ok to for adults to sexualize children with full intent.
You’re aware this is a memoir about the authors sex life with gender dysphoria? It has no intention of arousing the reader. If you’re worried children are going to be at risk of grooming by what they read then ban the Bible from schools, which describes what could be interpreted as Holy Mary’s rape as a gift from god.
That has to be – I mean literally – the most ridiculous comment ever made on anything anywhere. Do you know kids? Have you ever even seen a picture of one in a book? The idea that Mary was ‘raped’ by God has to be the second most ridiculous comment ever made. If you don’t like the Bible, don’t read it. It is rarely ever even mentioned in public schools so you’re barking up the wrong tree there. But wait, I’m still back on the “It has no intention of arousing the reader” comment.
